SignNow Smart Templates

With SignNow Smart Templates, users generate documents with the data from NetSuite records, update existing records or create new NetSuite records with data provided in a document by the user.

Working with SignNow Smart Templates involves a new concept that bridges your NetSuite and SignNow accounts - Data Binding.

Data Binding means connecting fields in NetSuite records with fillable fields on a template or document in SignNow. When customers fill out a field in SignNow, the same data can be automatically transferred to the related NetSuite field, in the related record. You can use a PDF document, to collect data from a customer and put it into a new NetSuite record automatically without manual re-typing. Data Binding works for prefilling documents from NetSuite records, creating or updating NetSuite records.

SignNow Smart Templates are used to complete three different types of tasks: Prefill a document, Update a NetSuite record or Create a new NetSuite record.

All three types of functionality (Prefill, Update and Create) rely on building either a one-way or two-way bind between the NetSuite record and a PDF document.

One-way bind enables users to transmit NetSuite record data into a PDF document via fillable fields. The prefilled PDF can later be sent for signature and signed.

Two-way bind enables users to transmit NetSuite record data into a PDF document and use fillable fields to request data from clients. Once provided, this data is transferred back to NetSuite for updating an existing record or creating a new record.
